Is Canada still part of the Commonwealth??

That’s the questions i am currently asking myself. People in Australia have told me that the Commonwealth Games are on at the moment in Melbourne. Really? At the moment? I find that hard to believe as i am sure that being in a Commonwealth Country I’d be able to watch the Games on TV. Or at least see some highlights on the sports news programs that seem to be on 24/7 here in Canada. But no… Nothing.

I have been told that the Canadian National Broadcaster, CBC, was doing a one hour highlight package. Well when’s it on. It must be on at 3am in the morning as i have yet to see anything. About the only news i have received from melbourne was when Karl texted me to tell me the results of the Men’s Triathlon and following that a discussion i had with Coach Gathercole a few days ago.

So my question to Canada is; Are you guys actually competiting or does no one in this country give a stuff unless sport involves snow or ice? My money is on the later.
